2015 will be remembered in history as the year mobile took over the Internet. 2015 marks the year that more people accessed the Internet on a mobile device than a desktop computer. That’s right, for the first time in Internet history! However, people still buy more stuff on desktop computers. Another interesting fact is that 89% of time spent on a mobile phone is utilizing an app.
The second BIG announcement of 2015 was Mobilegeddon. What exactly is Mobilegeddon? Well, on April 21, 2015, Google stated that when people make searches on mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) a preference will be given to websites that are mobile friendly. So what does this mean to brides and grooms planning their weddings? What does it mean to wedding vendors promoting their business with a vendor website? It means that preferential treatment will be given to websites that are mobile-friendly. If a bride’s favorite wedding vendor’s website is not mobile-friendly, then it will now be more difficult to find them through Google searches.
