The 90′s were full of many different types of music styles.  With the introduction of Grunge and Ska and an insurgence of techno/dance music to fill dance floors.  The 90s ended with the fear of Y2K and the crash of computers.  Many who thought computers would not recognize the new century.  Nothing became of it but it did generate a great financial income for many.  Without the 90s though, we would not be writing this post.  The Nineteen Nineties were the dawn of the Internet.  Apple also introduced the iMac.

We’ve updated our company system

October 27th, 2011 | Rss Feed

Sorry there was not a good post for you earlier this week as normal.  Yes, we updated our company system.  It is official.  We now run our company on a Mac.  Being first time users, we went with the Mac Mini.

mac mini

We love being mac users and we won’t go back.  It is amazing how we can switch between apps in a matter of seconds.  Along with is came no pop-up warnings or errors and lightning fast speed.  I would say the one downfall is not having a disc drive.  If interested, make other arrangements.  In addition, you can get the one bigger and network them together (down the road).  Another advantage is that you can hook-up your own periphrials.  We have an ergo keyboard and mouse -wireless.  In addition, we added an energy saving LED monitor.

Wedding Hair Styles

October 21st, 2011 | Rss Feed

A bride’s wedding is one of the biggest days in a women’s life.  She spends a lot of time thinking about her big day and wants everything to be perfect.  Since the bride tends to become the center of attention during the wedding, she wants to look her most beautiful.  This includes her dress, her make-up and her hair.  Your hairstyle should be thought out long before the big day.  You should get with your stylist no less than two months before the big day, but preferably 6 months before the wedding day.  This should give you and your stylist plenty of time to work out the best color and style for you and give you enough time to let your hair grow out if needed.

There are many options for your hair.  You may want to wear your hair pulled up into an updo.  Updo’s are very popular and traditional for weddings.  You may choose a polished updo or a loose messy updo. A polished updo has all of your hair pulled back into a smooth bun usually at the crown.  You may also choose to have your bangs swept to the side instead of pulled back sleek.  This is a very sophisticated look.  If you prefer a messy updo pull your hair back leaving more body and bounce to it.  This look tends to bring the face to the forefront.

You may also choose to leave your hair down and breezy.  This is a less formal look and works beautifully for a casual beachy style wedding.  Hair can be straight or wavy to curly.  You can curl the entire length of your hair for a more polished look, or maybe just curl the lower half for a more casual look.  Either way is a beautiful way to style your hair.

An option for someone who doesn’t want an updo, but wants her hair to have more control than just leaving her hair down, is a side ponytail.  This look beautifully combines an elegant and relaxed look all in one.

Here are a few tips for bridal hair.  First, choose the hairstyle before you choose the hair accessory.  Once you have decided on a style and an accessory, have your stylist try the two together to make sure they work.  Do not over accessorize.  Just keep it simple but beautiful.  Keep regular visits with your stylist so that your hair stays well trimmed.  Wear a button up shirt to your appointment the day of the wedding so you do not have to take your shirt off over your head.  Last, but certainly not least, keep your style true to you.  If you never wear your hair up, then why would you suddenly want your hair up for your wedding?  Do not let others dictate the way you should wear your hair just because they like a traditional look.

Unusual and Unique Guest Books

October 17th, 2011 | Rss Feed

One way to add some personalization to your wedding is with an unusual or unique guest book.  There are several ways to accomplish this.  One idea is to get a mat for a picture frame.  Choose what size you want the inside picture to be, then add a mat a good three inches larger than that picture.  For instance, if you want an 8×10 picture, then pick a mat that is about 11×13.  This should give your guests enough room to sign or leave a short message.  You can always choose a larger mat if you have invited a lot of guests to the wedding.

If you enjoy puzzles, then a puzzle is another option.  You can get a blank puzzle from almost any craft store.  Put the puzzle together and leave out a few pieces for your guests to sign.  You will have a puzzle to put back together whenever you like.  You can also go without putting the puzzle together first and leave the pieces for your guests to sign.  Then have fun trying to put the puzzle together.

Another option is a photo booth.  Your guests have their picture taken, and then they can attach the picture in a scrapbook and leave a message.  This works especially well with a black scrapbook and colored gel pens.  Make sure your adhesive is acid free.  You can have a table or box full of props that your guests can use to personalize their photos.  Think about adding cool props like hats, feather boas, funky glasses etc.

If you don’t mind something a little larger, try this.  Put different stationary at each table (or at a designated table).  Have your guests write a short story about the bride and groom.  Stories like a fun camping trip you went on or something guests remember about the bride and groom’s childhood.  Guests can also choose to just write you some words of encouragement.  At the end of the reception, have someone gather all the pages and then you can either have someone bind the pages or you can bind them yourself.  Binding yourself is a simple project.  Punch two to three holes in each page, line them up, and thread either string, twine or ribbon thru them.

These are just a few ideas for something to add a personal touch to your wedding.
