Best Swing Songs for Weddings Updated

January 31st, 2009 | Rss Feed

We are hard at work working on our song lists (as you can tell from previous posts and the ones to come.  We now have our list of Swing songs for weddings updated.  We added some swing song era songs along with the real “swing songs”.  We tried to incorporate some east coast swing songs and west coast swing songs.  We also included 1 fun swing song for kids called “Potato Chips”.  Take a listen as it always makes us crack up laughing listening to it.

Well, it Superbowl Sunday tomorrow and we’ll be taking the day off.  I love the commericals and can’t wait for the game.  The Eagles, Titans or Packers didn’t make it.  So we’ll have to root for the Cardinals since they’re so close.

All be safe and more good song updates next week!

Trimming the Guest List

Trimming the Guest List.  Wedding Day Budget Saving Options

written by: Tiffany Graham

With the troubled economy some brides are opting to have intimate weddings with a guests list as small as 50. This option can be a huge budget saver for those brides and grooms who still want the glitz and glam of a traditional 150+ guest list wedding but at half the cost. If you have a small budget i.e., $10,000 or less, with a guest list of 50 or fewer you could opt for the top shelf bar service and the four-course sit down dinner in the beautiful ballroom with elegant breathtaking décor you have always dreamed.

The downside of an intimate ceremony is the obvious guest list restriction. Often times you may have to exclude those friends or distant relatives who you would have normally invited if you were having a larger ceremony. This can be a difficult decision for brides and grooms, but it’s something you both should do together. If other people are making financial contributions toward the wedding it is also a good idea to run the guest list by them as well. At a later date, you can host a “get-together” or an open house and invite everyone who you couldn’t invite to the wedding.

Don’t let a slowing economy or small budget prevent you from having the elegant and unforgettable wedding ceremony you have always dreamed and deserve. With a few adjustments to your guest list and selecting the best vendors within your budget your wedding day can still be fabulous without looking economical.

Wedding Business Directory

January 24th, 2009 | Rss Feed

Well, we pushed hard this week and managed to verify all of our vendor’s listings.  To verify links, we used the web browser Firefox v3.0.5.   All sites were removed that were not found, had a different business name than the one in the listing and all sites that did not reference services for a wedding.  No paid listings were removed.  To view our vendor listings please see our wedding vendors web page.

This brings me to the point that WeddingMuseum.com offers 1 free business listing to all businesses that offer services that relate to the planning of the wedding day.  For further information, please see our advertising web page.

wedding websites reviewed

Well, we reviewed the wedding websites of past.  We removed all sites with incomplete information.  Not saying we won’t remove more in the future, but that the obscure were definitely removed.  Now we start the daunting project of checking all vendor listing links.  This will take a couple weeks, so please bear with us during this time.
