Cake Cutting Songs
Cake Cutting Songs are played at a wedding reception while the bride and groom cut their wedding cake. The song can also continue while the bride and groom feed each other a taste of their wedding cake. The cake cutting event is announced to all the guests so that they can gather together for the special moment. The bridal couple cuts the cake surrounded by friends and family. The groom's right hand must be on top of the bride's hand. The slice of cake is fed by the groom to the bride first and then the bride to groom. After the feeding, the remainder of the cake is cut to serve guests.
Typically the bride and groom purchase a cake serving set. The cake serving set includes the wedding cake knife and the serving knife. When cutting the cake, keep in mind the standard size of a piece of cake is 1 inch by 2 inches. If you are worried about too much fun in the mashing of cake, we would recommend the use of forks for feeding the bride and groom. This can also be made extra-special with the purchase of special wedding themed forks.
The cutting of the cake symbolizes the couple's shared future together as a married couple. This is why each share a piece of the cake cut. The cake cutting event is usually immediately following the main course as desert. Some bridal couples also choose to have a special separate groom cake. If the bridal couple has cupcakes, they can choose to cut one cupcake in half or have a separate pan cake to cut.
