We also saw a new genre of heavy metal and hard rock bands carried over from the late 90's - rap metal and rap rock. Starting with Limp Bizkit and now staying strong with the likes of Staind, Evanescence and Papa Roach. Bubblegum pop became Teen pop in the 00's and stayed strong with artists like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera. There was also a steady flow of boy bands such as the Jonas Brothers and V Factory.
Mainstream R&B artists played on many iPods with Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Usher. We would say the biggest growth in music from previous years was country pop from the beginnings of Garth Brooks to nowadays Brad Paisley. Country is now being more accepted and purchased by the general public with the growing popularity of country pop artist such as Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Shania Twain.
