| WHO WE ARE |
Melanie is a Labor & Delivery nurse in Southern California. Born and raised in Orlando, FL. She attended college at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Shortly thereafter she decided to take a career turn and go back to nursing school. She graduated from FL Hosp. College of Health Sciences and is now a traveling nurse in Orange County, CA.
Chad is an Environmental Engineer, born and raised in California. Chad graduated from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and is now the Water Quality Manager for the city of Fullerton, CA. Chad is one of six kids and loves to play and coach soccer. |
| HOW WE MET |
Melanie and Chad met on Match.com! It was Chad who saw Melanie's profile and decided to say hello. After several emails and phone conversations, the two decided to meet for a date. Chad chose a popular bowling ally/restaurant in Orange, CA. One fantastic date led to another...and another...until the two became inseparable. |
| THE PROPOSAL |
Chad and Melanie had flown to Florida to spend Christmas with Melanie's family. The two had been talking about marriage for quite some time now. However, Chad had lead Melanie to believe that something might happen on New Year's Eve. Much to her surprise on Christmas morning, Chad presented Melanie with her gifts in a most unique fashion. He told her she would have to "earn" her gifts by answering several questions (about their relationship, memories they had shared, etc.) With each correct answer, she would receive a gift. The first gift was a lovely card. The second, several California lottery tickets. The third, salsa dancing at a professional studio for the two of them. And the fourth, several gift certificates to her favorite stores. He then proceeded to tell her that she had gotten the fifth question wrong. So they made a deal. He told her to scratch off the lottery tickets and if any of them were a winner, he would give her the fifth and final gift. After scratching two loosing tickets, she came to the third ticket. What appeared next were three diamonds in a row, below them the words "Will You Marry Me?" She almost didn't believe him until she looked to see the little black box in his hand as he proceeded to get down on one knee. Mom, Dad, and grandma were watching with tears of joy as Melanie said a very confident YES! |
