| Who we are now? | Karen is a Horse woman, who lived in Salem, WI. She had an 80 acre, 48 stall horse facility with a 81 X 180 indoor arena and living quarters. For a living Karen trained horses, boarded horses, gave riding lessons, day camps, sold horses, bred horses with her stallion, One Impressive Beau, and judged horse shows. Once she knew Dave was "the One" she put her farm up for sale. The farm was sold in June of 08, and Karen moved to Watertown 7-31-08.
David is a farmer/builder living in Watertown, WI. He does custom crop farming, builds pole buildings for Huber buildings, and raises beef cattle. Dave always told his friends he didn't like horse people. Well guess what - he is marrying one! |
| How we met? |
| A lady was looking for a horse to buy and was interested in a horse at Karen's barn. The lady brought Bill (Dave's friend who owns a stable in Libertyville, IL) with her to look at the horse at Karens, and Karen was talking with Bill about building a hay shed, and needing help with making hay. Bill called Dave and told him about Karen and said, "You will like her!" Karen had no idea she was being set up, as Karen was looking to have a hay shed built. Karen & Dave ended up meeting in a field that Dave was baling hay in. Karen rode in the tractor for two hours - that was our 'first date.' From there Dave & Karen had a long distance (1 1/2 hours between houses) relationship for over 2 years. |
| The proposal? | | First he went to my mother's house without telling me, to ask permission to marry me. On Christmas 2007 he proposed to me on one knee in front of his kids and family. |
