| WHO WE ARE |
Maria is currenly enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard as a supply technician. Clayton is also enlisted in the Texas Army National Army Guard as a sheet metal technician. Maria and Clayton both recently served in Balad, Iraq for one year in Operation Iraqi Freedom. |
| HOW WE MET |
Maria and her brother John were outside of their home, when Clayton happened to pull up to their house in his Chevy 4X4 pickup with a six inch lift and mud tires. Clayton got out of his truck, dressed in his military BDU's and it was immediately love at first sight for the both of them. |
| THE PROPOSAL |
After eight years, Clayton had planned to propose on July 4th, 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq at one of Saddam Hussein's (Al Faw) palace with camera crew in place for the re-enlistment ceremony, but unfortunately being in Iraq, the ring was shipped a couple of days late. So Clayton proposed on the top of the HAS in Balad, Iraq. |
