| WHO WE ARE |
Ericka is currently a Unit Coordinator at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Alvin is currently a Market Analyst with Avendra LLC in Rockville, Maryland. |
| HOW WE MET |
Ericka and Alvin originally met in Monrovia, Liberia. Ericka was attending J J Rums United Methodist School, and Alvin was at St. Patrick's High School. Ericka was 12 and Alvin was 15. They began to date after they were introduced by a mutual friend.
They dated for a couple of months and then Ericka had to leave to attend school in the United States.
After about 8 years in the United States, Ericka and Alvin reunited in 2001. They have been dating since 2001. |
| THE PROPOSAL |
The proposal took place the French restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda, Maryland. We had decided to go out to dinner to celebrate our 5 years of dating. While eating dinner, some of Ericka's family members began to enter the restaurant. Ericka was confused. When they all sat down to have dinner, Alvin began to make a speech, he ended up on his knees, and Ericka said "YES". |
