| Who we are now? | | Emily is working for Oklahoma Rehab while going to school at TCC to finish her PTA. Aaron is working with Broken Arrow Schools as a 9th and 10th grade teacher and coach. We both graduated from Northeastern State University, Emily in General Studies and Aaron in Finance. |
| How we met? |
| It started after a youth camp where we both served as sponsors. The youth pastors that we each worked with at our church introduced us after camp. The two youth pastors are best friends and thought we both match well. |
| The proposal? | | The story started off about 2 months ago when I first started looking for a ring. I was trying to decide how I was going to propose. Well, I started gathering all our pictures together that we have made over the past year and half and started making a video of them. Well, we all know that Valentines was Wednesday, but we could not celebrate because she had to study for a huge test and I had to work up at the church. Also, we both didn't want to be out with all the other billions of people trying to find a place to eat. Well, to back things up she has wanted to take pictures as a couple for a while. So, I decided what a great way to add to Valentines. Well, of course I set up pictures to be taken yesterday afternoon. Back to the making of the video, on Friday I started adding voice overs to the video because I had a plan for her to watch it at the church, which I will get to in a minute. Well, on Saturday afternoon I arrived at her house with two dozen roses, some chocolates, and a teddy dog. We then went and took our first set of pictures at a stadium, because we wanted to take pictures with our OU stuff. Boomer Sooner! Then, we went to my dad's house and changed for more elegant pictures downtown at the train tracks. Once the pictures were through we headed to eat at our favorite place, Olive Garden. In the meantime, while we were eating, the girl who took our pictures emailed them to a guy, Kenny, that was helping me out with the video to add them to it. Once we were done eating we started to head to the church. Let’s rewind a second to the beginning of the date. I told her that I had to help with a skit at church for next weekend and that it would only take 30 minutes to go over. She didn’t mind and brought some work to work on during that time. Ok, back to the date. Kenny was not quite done with setting everything up so he told me to stall, so I took the long way to church. And everyone knows me, I like to get places fast, so it was a twist in the arm. While driving the long way I came upon a man that was pushing his car to the gas station. I thought what a great way to help and waste time. I pulled over and helped the man, which allowed just enough time for Kenny to finish. We then made it to the church and started to go inside. We were almost to the sanctuary when I told her I forgot the script in the car. I told her where it was and asked her meet me in the sanctuary. She did so while I ran to the sanctuary to hide behind the curtains. She made it back and entered where a voice over of my voice came on and told her to come in and take a seat. I told her that I was sorry we couldn’t have Valentines on Wednesday so I wanted to make it a little more special with a video I made her. She watched the video, by this point I was finally nervous and shaking in my pants. Once the video ended I told her I had one more gift for her and that it was on stage. The lights on stage focus in on a pillar that had the ring on it. She walked up with the music playing in the background as I followed sneaking behind her to eventually get down on one knee and propose. |
